Indian  4 Models

1941 – Indian 4 (Hand Start) 1:26

Interestingly , the owner of this Indian four has perfected starting the motor with one final KICK…from his HAND!

He looks like a pretty big guy, but I guess this shows that the fours are easier to start than the big V-Twins!!

1944 Indian 4 (Wheels through Time museum) 3:41

Dale Walksler of the Wheels through Time Museum in Maggie Valley, NC talks to us about the Indian 4

Dale explains how he purchased the bike at auction in St Louis, Missouri, auctioned for Mid West Motorcycles, on a cold spring day.

He says…“One of the last years  Indian made the 4”.

Once Dale had gotten on board the bike  it started easily , which he puts it down to the magneto Ignition. (No battery required)

Dale refers to some original features of the motorcycle…The Leather saddle…the “extremely cool horn’…  and ‘you gotta love the Crocker steering damper’

He talks about the great suspension and balloon tyres which made for a smooth ride… and ‘what a cool exhaust system’…!!

He finally takes the bike for a short ride before he puts it back in the museum.
